Okay so, it is no secret that there has been quite a few disruptions world-wide in the last few years, which has curtailed global go, and definitely effected the economies of many a nation, yes, including our possess here in the United States. Okay, so let's talk about Global fade for a bit, shall we?
Mexico has clear been hit hard, no not by Hurricane Adrian that missed the Baja soar this year, but due to the Swine Flu epidemic outbreak there a couple of years benefit, compounded by the War on Drugs. There was an enthralling article recently in the WSJ, in fact, it prompted me to do some more research to finally complete this overview of global recede for mid-2011. The article was titled "Mexico Tourism Feels Chill of Ongoing Drug Violence" by Nicholas Casey and Alexandra Berzon. The article celebrated the lack of Spring fracture tourists which harm its resort areas, which have never fully recovered since the Swine Flu outbreak of 2009.
Next, discontinuance on the Global fade scene has been the challenges in Europe with volcanic ash not only this latest incident in May of 2011, but the grand one in mid-April of 2010 - those types of event really cream the Airline Industry, although trapped travelers do increase their stays, even if they are mostly tapped out of cash after a week or two stranded. Well, I guess that brings us to a bigger challenge, an on-going one in the Middle East and North Africa - if you wanted to perceive the Pyramids, or if viewing stale Egypt is on your bucket list, I would issue you to live a puny longer and wait five years?
The days-of-rage and civil unrest in Bahrain, Egypt, Syria, Egypt, Libya, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Jordan not to mention the on-going issues in Pakistan, Somalia, Uganda, Nigeria, and Sudan. And all this turmoil makes one wonder if they ought to skip Turkey, Israel, and Lebanon. On the other side of the Mediterranean Sea, there are occasional riots and protests over austerity measures in Spain, Greece, Portugal, and Italy.
What about Asia, you might ask? Well, there is Japan which is quiet trying to overcome the economic and infrastructure issues from the spacious Tsunami and 9.2 Mega Quake, so too are the folks in Mid-New Zealand in Christchurch, NZ. How about the Caribbean, well, in Central America kidnapping Americans for ransom is a current past time so that, doesn't compose sense, and the islands are expecting a whopping Hurricane Season. Likewise in India it is Monsoon Season, and the rest of Asia has begun their deluge from their seasonal Typhoon Season, as well.
What about folks coming to go in the US, it's apt here? Well, it is Hurricane Season, and we have been rather restrictive with travelers and our borders lately. There was an spicy article in the WSJ on 6-9-11 titled "Stores Push for Chinese Tourists - Visitors From China are mountainous Spenders in U.S., but Visa Red Tape Means They Often Opt for Europe" by Elizabeth Holmes.
The attached graph shows our biggest tourists are Canadians, Japanese, Europeans, Mexicans, Brazilians, Germans, French, Chinese, Indians, and Australians. Interestingly enough, I live in an international tourist resort city, and that sounds about apt to me, based on the folks I meet here. Indeed, I hope you will please assume all this into consideration.
